Libraries and Hockey - Do They Mix?
Our new Fleming Branch opened on June 21 in a multi-use facility that includes one ice pad. The Town of Lincoln does not operate its two arenas with ice year round.
The Library has had the summer to get used to its new surroundings without many other activities in the building. A couple of weeks ago, hockey started for the season. The hockey players and spectators had a stand-alone building for almost 50 years where kids could be kids and parents could meet and talk.
Can the business of hockey coincide with the more sedate library activities? It will, but there is a learning curve as both groups realize that they can't operate in the same way when you have 'roommates'.
Let's see how things progress during hockey season.
