Yes, Monday May 13 was a sad day.
The spectacular meltdown of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the last half of the third period was very disappointing and frustrating for Leaf Nation after waiting nine years for a Stanley Cup playoff berth.
Monday was also a sad day for those of us who have been following Leaf fan Chris Hadfield. His tweets from the International Space Station have ended with his successful return to earth at the end of his mission.
His thousands of followers have been both enlightened and entertained by his glorious images from space, his demonstrations of everyday life on the Station and his heart-felt music. I will miss my daily dose of the wonder of earth from space and of space from earth.
This is social media at its best. We could not have had such an intimate view of life on the ISS without it. We have all benefitted. Thank you Chris.
Perhaps we can add another addition to the series, 'Libraries Aren't Just Buildings Anymore'?
